Don’t Fatigue – Get a room!
Late last year, my better half and I left Turkey to travel back to Australia. Each of us were dreading the lengthy flight from Istanbul to Changi Airport in Singapore via Dubai followed by 10 hours of hanging around at Changi International airport for our next flight. We were discussing this with a fellow Australian tourist when we learned a little known service which made a big difference for us both. Let me reveal what transpired…
Changi International airport must without doubt be amongst the most incredible international airports. There are so many activities to take up your time while you are patiently waiting for your flight time .. I’ll let you know the way my wife and I used our 10 hours of waiting.
We got there weary and went straight to the Transit Hotel. This really is like no other conventional we have stayed at before. The posted charges were charged hourly so we chose to purchase a room for 8 hours. We asked for a wake-up phone call and left for the room.
The living space was the same as any hotel room really. In this case we had a double bed with ensuite bathroom that had a shower, lavatory and basin. The whole thing was incredibly fresh and tidy. The one noticable variation to nearly all hotels was the windows. There wasn’t one. There were drapes hanging over what looked like a window yet when you pulled them back all that was hiding behind was a wall. So we closed the curtains, took a shower and jumped into a very comfortable bed.
Seven and a half hours later our wake-up call sounded and we woke up, made a cup of tea and checked out.
With 2 hours left and feeling refreshed once more, we opted to eat at one of the numerous places to eat. The dinner was superb and the service excellent.
After having eaten, we went to the butterfly enclosure. This is an outstanding showcase on the top level of the airport which generally has a 2 tier garden location with tropical plant life and countless numbers of butterflies of all shapes, sizes and shades. An awesome spectacle and one a person could expect to see at a zoo ınstead of an airport. Before long the heat and himidity made us return to the flight terminal.
Then I located the picture theater and we were lucky. The show was just starting. So we watched for a little more than 1 hour. So enjoyable!
Inspite of having subsequently discovering all the additional intriguing displays at the airport, we hade to prepare for departure. It was time to connect to our flight for Australia.
Lengthy travel can certainly be quite challenging, mainly as you age. The last thing you want to do is sit around an airport terminal for a long time waiting for connecting flights.
