Although the economy is recovering, this Valentine’s Day many couples still think they have to cut romance out of the budget, putting off that much-needed getaway with their loved one.
The California Travel & Tourism Commission (CTTC) says there’s no need to put off that romantic splurge this February, as dozens of California accommodations are offering great deals, making February the perfect time for lovers to reconnect for a quick getaway.
“February is a great time to visit California, not only for the great weather and romantic destinations, but for the travel deals,” said Caroline Beteta, CTTC president & CEO. “To help couples get away from it all and celebrate their love in style—and at great value—we’ve collected dozens of Valentine’s Day packages across the Golden State.”

Balboa Bay Club, Newport Beach: The only waterfront resort in Newport Beach is offering “The Valentine’s Romance Package” starting at $295 plus tax and gratuity. Package includes one night’s luxurious guest room accommodations, champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries upon arrival, $50 resort credit for use around the Resort and Spa, breakfast in your guest room or in the First Cabin Restaurant and complimentary valet parking. Subject to availability.
Georgian Hotel, Santa Monica: Holding hands while walking along the beach is only steps away when you’ve reserved the Month of Love retreat. A half-dozen chocolate-covered strawberries and a “Love Potion” cocktail kick up the romance factor at this historic oceanfront hotel. From $240 until Feb. 28, 2011.
